Charcoal traders, Ghana

  1. In many regions throughout Africa, the growing power-needs of the largely increasing population cannot be met by the more modern energy sources like electricity and natural gas; The majority of the wood and charcoal is used as fuel for cooking meals. This lack of more viable energy sources is rapidly shrinking the size of forests, including ones that are nationally-protected.
